Description: Alzheimer's Association caregiver support groups, conducted by trained facilitators, are a safe place for caregivers, family and friends of persons with dementia to: * Develop a support system. * Exchange practical information on caregiving challenges and possible solutions. * Talk through issues and ways of coping. * Share feelings, needs and concerns. * Learn about community resources. Meetings will be held at Marshall Browning Estates the third Thursday of each month at 5:00 p.m.

Event: COMMUNITY HEALTHCHECK - POSTPONED DUE TO COVID - 19
Location: Marshall Browning Hospital
Description: The Community HealthCheck will feature lab screenings at a reduced cost of ONLY $40 (cash or check only). Testing includes: Complete Metabolic Profile; Complete Blood Count; Lipid Profile (Cholesterol, LDL, HDL, Triglycerides); Thyroid Function: TSH; Diabetic Screen: Ha1C; Vitamin D Level; Prostate Cancer Screen for Men: PSA All testing must be done prior to the HealthCheck event from April 11-18. Results of the lab testing will be available on April 23 from 3:00-6:30 p.m. Healthcare providers will be available to meet with individuals and explain their results. Other free screenings will be offered including blood pressure, pulse, oxygen saturation, Alpha 1 Testing (genetic marker for COPD), and Sleep Apnea. Dr. David Dickinson, Podiatrist, will be available to answer questions concerning common foot and ankle conditions. Heather Burns, Diabetic Educator, will be available to meet with diabetics or discuss results of Ha1C screening. There will be great door prizes, giveaways and refreshments.
