Marshall Browning Hospital 8th Annual Golf Classic A Success

Du Quoin, Illinois - June 22, 2009 - Marshall Browning Hospital's 8th Annual Charity Golf Classic, held on Thursday, June 11, was a great success for the patients served by Marshall Browning Hospital.

The scramble was held at Red Hawk Golf Club with 91 golfers in attendance. The scramble raised $9,800 which will be applied toward new equipment for the Medical-Surgical patients.

The winning team was sponsored by Siemens which included Vince Hughes, Nick Italiano, Jason Akerman, and Tony Italiano with an impressive score of 55.

Prizes were awarded to the 7th place team sponsored by General Cable and included Allen Humphrey, Steve Sims, Lance Jones and Joe Woll. Prizes were also awarded to the 13th place team sponsored by Heartland Radiology and included Nathan Hubler, Adrian Eisenhauer, Leland Coffer, and Corey Plumlee.

The 'funnest foursome' was awarded to the Marshall Browning Hospital employee team consisting of Sherry Wertz, Lisa Smith, Michael Cain and Samantha Albers.
Winner of the Longest Drive on hole #13 went to Linda Quillman, Closest to the Pin on hole #3 was Phil McDaniel, and Longest Putt on hole #8 was awarded to Jordan McDaniel.

Winner of the 50/50 was Vince Hughes of the Siemen's team. Vogler Motor Company of Carbondale generously sponsored a hole-in-one prize including a new 2010 Ford Fusion, as well as other auxiliary prizes for Par 3 hole-in-one contests. Paradise Pools and Spa, of Du Quoin, generously donated a new spa as a hole-in-one prize and also included auxiliary prizes for Par 3 hole-in-one contests. There were no winners of the hole-in-one contests.

Marshall Browning Hospital would like to thank those who supported the 8th Annual Charity Golf Classic by playing on a team and the area businesses for their generous support of hole sponsorships and door prizes. A special thanks is given to Sam Macaluso for his outstanding efforts that contribute greatly to the success of this event.
