Marshall Browning Hospital Welcomes

Du Quoin, Illinois - September 2, 2010 - Marshall Browning Hospital is pleased to welcome Family Practice physician, Beth Bigham, M.D. to the Marshall Browning Hospital Medical Clinic (Kuehn Building). Dr. Bigham will join Gladstone Tucker, M.D., Board Certified Internal Medicine/Geriatrics and Felicia Kimbrough, Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner, on September 13.

As a family practice physician, Dr. Bigham is specially trained in the care of patients across the full spectrum of ages, from newborns to seniors. In addition to diagnosing and treating illness, family medicine physicians provide preventive care, including routine check ups, health-risk assessments, immunization and screening tests, and personalized counseling on maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Family physicians also manage chronic illness and coordinate care provided by other sub-specialists.

Dr. Bigham received her BA in Biological Sciences at SIU-Carbondale and also attended the University of Mississippi in Oxford, Mississippi. She then graduated from medical school at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Rockford and completed a Family Practice residency at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Indiana. Dr. Bigham has been practicing medicine for over 20 years. She is Board Certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. She has been a member of the Perry County Board of Health since 2000 and has served as Medical Director since 2006. Dr. Bigham has a special interest in women's healthcare and children and adolescents.

"Being back at Marshall Browning Hospital feels like 'coming home'" says Dr. Bigham. Dr. Bigham is married to Dr. Robert Davidson who is a Family Practice physician in Pinckneyville. They have two children, Andrea who is 17 years old, and a son, James, who is 14.

Marshall Browning Hospital CEO, William Huff, said "We are pleased to have Dr. Bigham joining our medical clinic. She brings excellent credentials and understands the importance of spending time with the patient and getting to know the family as well. She will be able to provide a place where all generations of a family can see the same doctor."

The Marshall Browning Hospital Medical Clinic is located on the southwest corner of the hospital campus. The clinic is open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday with some evening appointments available.
