Gladstone Tucker, M.D. Earns Board Certification in Internal Medicine from the American Board of Internal Medicine

Du Quoin, Illinois - December 4, 2008- Gladstone Tucker, M.D., who practices at Marshall Browning Hospital in Du Quoin, has successfully earned his Board Certification in Internal Medicine from the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM).

ABIM works to enhance the quality of health care by certifying internists and subspecialists who demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and attitudes essential for excellent patient care.

Dr. Tucker practices Internal Medicine and Geriatrics at Marshall Browning Hospital in Du Quoin. "Dr. Tucker's board certification in the area of Internal Medicine brings an additional level of quality and expertise to the hospital," said William Huff, Chief Executive Officer of Marshall Browning Hospital. "We are proud to offer the community quality care in a state-of-the-art facility that is close to home." Dr. Tucker has been practicing in Du Quoin since 2005 and currently serves as the hospital's Chief of Medicine.

A growing body of research suggests that Board Certified physicians deliver higher quality care than non-certified physicians. Board Certification demonstrates to the public that physicians have met the highest standards of internal medicine and its subspecialties. Board Certification is voluntary and includes an exam that tests a physician's ability to diagnose and treat patients with a broad range of conditions.

A surprise celebration, hosted by the physician clinic staff, was held in honor of Dr. Tucker at Marshall Browning Hospital to celebrate his outstanding achievement.
