Open House to Celebrate New Renovations

Du Quoin, IL - July 19, 2012 - Marshall Browning Estates, the independent living facility owned and operated by Marshall Browning Hospital, has recently completed renovations to its 22-unit facility. Originally built in 1995, the renovated building features an activity room with a Wii station, community dining room, living room, resident laundry facility, screened-in patio, exercise room, library and spacious grounds to enjoy the outdoors. Recent renovations include new paint and all new flooring throughout the public areas of the facility.

On Thursday, August 2 from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m., Marshall Browning Estates will hold an open house to reveal the new renovations to the general public. The open house will provide an opportunity for the public to tour the Estates and find out all that is offered through an independent living community. Guests will enjoy refreshments and the opportunity to register to win door prizes.

According to Edwin Gast, CEO of Marshall Browning Hospital, the completed renovations are very attractive and something to be proud of. Marshall Browning Estates was originally built as a community service and remains a not-for-profit entity of Marshall Browning Hospital. Keeping this focus in mind, a Respite Room was recently added to provide an additional service to area residents. The need for a respite stay could be due to an injury, illness, damage to your home, or maybe a family going on vacation or business trip. Regardless of the reason, the purpose of the Respite Room is to provide a safe and friendly environment during the stay. The apartment is fully furnished including linens, dishes and cable television. The goal of this service is to provide a hotel-like environment with a home-like feel. The apartment can be used for short or long-term stays.

Marshall Browning Estates is an independent living facility designed for adults over 55 who need limited assistance with daily activities. It was designed to ensure comfort, privacy and security with the goal of promoting the overall wellbeing of each resident. Special amenities that are included in the monthly rent of an apartment include spacious living room with French doors opening to a patio, two double closets in each bedroom, kitchen with stove and full-size refrigerator, emergency call devices in the bathroom and bedroom, cable television, individually controlled heating and air conditioning, private mail boxes on site, scheduled transportation to appointments and nightly security checks of the property. In addition, residents are able to enjoy breakfast items always being available, lunch with choice of 2 entrees served in the dining room, and dinner which is À la carte and also served in the dining room.

The Estates is a private-pay facility with no inquiry of assets or income. Apartments may be leased for six months or longer.
