Marshall Browning Hospital Welcomes Fourth Gastroenterologist



Du Quoin, Illinois - February 17, 2016 - Marshall Browning Hospital in Du Quoin has expanded its network of expert physicians as it welcomes gastroenterologist Jason R. Taylor, M.D. to its growing list of specialty clinics. Dr. Taylor is board certified in Gastroenterology and specializes in colon cancer prevention and screening as well as the management of gastroesophageal reflux disease. He offers clinical expertise in biliary disorders, acute and chronic pancreatitis and pancreatic cancer.

Dr. Taylor earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine in Miami, Florida and completed his residency at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio. He then completed a Gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Michigan School of Medicine and subsequent fellowship in ERCP and EUS.

"We are pleased to add an additional gastroenterologist from Saint Louis University to our specialty clinic schedule. We are very fortunate to have experts in the field of gastroenterology coming to Du Quoin so that our patients do not have to travel to St. Louis," commented Dan Eaves, CEO.

The addition of Dr. Taylor expands Marshall Browning Hospital's gastroenterology clinic to four specialists from Saint Louis University who travel from St. Louis to Du Quoin each month to treat disorders of the digestive system and disorders such as gallbladder, biliary tree and pancreas. Other providers in the gastroenterology clinic include Dr. Bruce Bacon, Dr. Alex Befeler, and Dr. Christine Hachem. All four physicians have surgical privileges at Marshall Browning Hospital and provide upper and lower endoscopy services as well as other procedures such as liver biopsy.

Dr. Taylor will be presenting a luncheon program at Marshall Browning Hospital on Thursday, March 10 at 12:00 noon. He will discuss the latest information about colon cancer, the risk factors for colon cancer development, the symptoms of colon cancer and how and why you should get screened. There is no charge to attend the program and a complimentary lunch will be provided. Seating is limited and pre-registration is required by calling Pam Logan at 542-1033.
