Marshall Browning Hospital Welcomes New Dietitian

Du Quoin, Illinois - November 4, 2016 - Marshall Browning Hospital in Du Quoin is pleased to welcome Cindy York-Camden, MS, RD, LDN.

Cindy is a Registered Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist and native of Southern Illinois. Her responsibilities will include providing individual and family medical nutrition counseling in the hospital's outpatient Specialty Clinic including diabetic counseling and weight loss. In addition, she will implement dietary care plans, provide medical nutrition therapy, and diabetic education for inpatients.

Cindy attended John A. Logan College where she completed her Associates degree and Southern Illinois University where she completed her Bachelors and Masters degrees in the science of food and nutrition.

Cindy has extensive experience providing medical nutrition therapy to individuals and groups. She enjoys helping people with diabetes or pre-diabetes to lower high blood sugar and learn how to stay healthy. She is well known in the Southern Illinois area for her healthy grocery shopping tours on the topics of weight management, heart health and diabetes. Cindy also has experience providing diabetes support groups, weight loss programs and motivational talks to the community. She works with individuals and groups to help them plan tasty meals and believes that food can be tasty and still be good for you. She enjoys working with individuals and groups to help them find the foods they love while still making their doctors happy. Her passion is wellness and she enjoys working with clients of all ages to help them feel better and stay well.

Cindy currently works part time as a consulting Registered Dietitian for SI Nutrition and Diabetes and with dialysis patients at Fresenius Kidney Care in Du Quoin.
