Marshall Browning Hospital to Open Pain Management Clinic

Du Quoin, Illinois – March 13, 2024 - Marshall Browning Hospital is excited to announce the opening of a new Pain Management Clinic on April 16, 2024, led by Dr. Jeffrey Sears. Few fields of medicine have evolved and advanced more in recent years than pain management and Marshall Browning Hospital is proud to be dedicating a new department specifically to this important, specialized service.

Too often, people suffering from chronic pain accept their discomfort or feel that their treatment options will be limited to prescription medications. As a result, many people experience increased pain as well as depression. Marshall Browning’s new Pain Management Clinic will offer a team approach, helping patients understand the causes of their pain, along with providing individualized treatment plans based on a number of considerations, including the cause and level of pain. The treatment plan aims to maximizetheir personal potential and increase their functional capacity. This could include modalities such as physical therapy, minimally invasive interventional procedures, and medication management when appropriate.

Conditions treated in the Pain Management Clinic include neck and back pain, headaches, fibromyalgia, chronic pelvic pain, Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS), nerve damage, as well as pain associated with arthritis, sciatica, muscle spasms, shingles and more.

Dr. Sears completed medical school at the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific in Pomona, CA and an Anesthesia Pain Management Fellowship at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington, VT. Dr. Sears will be joined by nurse practitioner, Leslie King, who will see patients in the clinic.

“We are excited to welcome Dr. Sears and Leslie King, Nurse Practitioner. Their expertise and training will be of value to our patients. Pain management is a concern for our community and having this care close to home will be a real benefit for our patients, especially for someone experiencing chronic pain,” said Dan Eaves, CEO.

The Pain Management Clinic will provide a balanced approach to pain treatment that focuses on restoring patients to the functions of their daily lives. For more information, call 618-542-1045 or visit www.marshallbrowninghospital.com.
