MBH Awards Fifth Four-Year Healthcare Scholarship


Du Quoin, Illinois - July 31, 2013 - Marshall Browning Hospital in DuQuoin awarded their fifth $1,000 health career scholarship to Molly Clark of Du Quoin. Each spring, a Du Quoin High School senior is awarded $1,000-per-year for up to four years to help further their college dreams. Molly plans to attend the University of Illinois at Chicago where she will pursue a Bachelor's degree in Biology and then continue her education to become an Orthodontist.

Molly is the daughter of Robyn and Leo Russell of Du Quoin and Curtis Clark of Tuscaloosa, AL. Molly was formally recognized at the District #300 Foundation Dinner in May.

The Hospital Scholarship Committee hosted a dinner on July 30 in honor of Molly, as well as Chace Epplin, 2012 recipient, Curry Emling, 2011 recipient, Lindsey Chapman, 2010 recipient, and Chelsey (Varner) Davis, 2009 recipient.

The Scholarship Committee is comprised of hospital board members Richard Haines, Kathy West, Don Hoffman, Mark Maclin and Edwin A. Gast, CEO.

Marshall Browning Hospital is paying out $4,000 each year to local students who are committed to furthering their education and working toward a healthcare career. It is one of the many ways Marshall Browning Hospital is giving back to the community.
