Imaging Technologist PRN
The Imaging Technologist, under the supervision of the Radiologist and Imaging Director, provides a high level of professional quality care for patients through the performance of imaging procedures, computed tomography, mobile and surgical procedures, and the ability to process images.

The Technologist's responsibility includes radiation protection for all patients, employees, and visitors. The Technologist should develop the ability to properly analyze images from the various standpoints of structural shadows, detail, proper brightness, contrast, image sharpness, magnification, and image distortion. Other responsibilities include the various tasks relating to record maintenance using the DR, CR, and PACS; and scheduling the day-to-day activity of procedures for fluoroscopy, general diagnostic procedures, mammography, cat scan, ultrasound, MRI, nuclear medicine, and mobile (portable) procedures. Technologists must follow all "Code of Ethics," aseptic techniques, and isolation procedures.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

A. Education: Associate's Degree in Applied Science
B. Licensure: Registration by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists
(ARRT) and accreditation by the Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA).
C. Training and Experience: Must maintain continuing education credits for ARRT and IEMA. BLS Certification is required.
D. Job Knowledge: The Technologist must have comprehensive knowledge of
all aspects of the Imaging Department to care for neonatal, pediatric,
adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. The Technologist should know all
policies, procedures, and all routine procedures of the Imaging Department.
The Technologist should be familiar with the organization and function of all
departments in the hospital and how they interact with the Imaging Department. The Technologist will keep abreast of the current trends and new developments in
Imaging.
E. Physical Demands Moderate physical activity. On feet most of the time. Involves bending, stooping, squatting, turning, reaching, and occasionally to frequently lifting objects weighing more than 35 pounds. Should be capable of moderately heavy labor.
