Emergency Department Intake Coordinator
Job Title: Emergency Room Intake Coordinator

Part-time

Summary: The Emergency Room Intake Coordinator is the first point of contact for all patients/visitors entering Marshall Browning Hospital's Emergency Department. They will provide a warm greeting and ensure those entering the Emergency Department have a wellness screening, including a temperature check and verbal assessment, gather vital information, and notify the nursing staff that a patient is ready for triage.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Welcome and screen patients using a patient screening form.
• Perform basic data entry into the computer system.
• Communicate with the nursing staff to coordinate the intake of ER patients.
• Communicate the status of patients in the ER waiting area to the nursing staff as needed.
• Manage and communicate with the patients/visitors in the ER waiting room.
• Transport or assist patients to the appropriate treatment areas if needed.
• Operate an infra-red thermometer or other assigned instrument to obtain a temperature reading of all individuals entering the emergency department according to the manufacturer's instructions and CDC guidance.
• Monitor the flow of people entering the ER waiting room to ensure appropriate distancing between individuals according to the social distancing guidelines recommended by the CDC.
• Put on and remove personal protective equipment per company protocol as required.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment and work area.
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Education-Knowledge-Skills-Abilities
Minimum Qualifications:
• High School graduate or equivalent required.
• Experience in Customer Service, Nursing, or Health Care preferred.

• Demonstrated ability to work with various patients in a friendly, courteous manner and actively listen to determine the patient's needs successfully.
• Ability to interact with a diverse client population and provide excellent customer service.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Detail-oriented
• Strong organizational skills
• Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team, interdependently and collaboratively.
• Ability to problem-solve, manage conflict, address client concerns and complaints.
• HIPAA compliant
