(DU QUOIN, IL) For the health, safety and well-being of our patients, visitors and staff, Marshall Browning Hospital has implemented changes to entry points at Marshall Browning Hospital, Marshall Browning Medical Clinic, Urgent Care and Family Health Center until further notice. Entry to the hospital will be limited to the main entrance only. According to Illinois Department of Public Health guidance, any patient experiencing a fever, cough or shortness of breath are asked to contact their provider.Changes effective Wednesday, March 18, 2020
We are now enforcing a visitor restriction policy and allowing two visitors per patient. Individuals under age 18 years of age are not allowed to visit at this time. Exceptions to this policy will be made for end-of-life circumstances.Upon entry, all patients and visitors at the hospital will undergo a brief illness screening except those presenting for emergency care. Those wishing to visit a patient will not be allowed to visit if found to have a fever or respiratory symptom. If you are coming for an outpatient service and have symptoms, you will be required to wear a mask and may be directed to Urgent Care.If visitors have symptoms such as fever, cough or shortness of breath, those individuals will be redirected to the Urgent Care Clinic or Emergency Department if they desire.The hospital dining room is now closed to the public and employees. Carry-out meals will be provided to staff and providers.The outside entrance to Specialty Clinic is now locked and all visitors must enter through the front entrance.The hospital gift shop is temporarily closed.Cardiopulmonary Rehab has been suspended.Changes effective Monday, March 23, 2020:
Patients presenting to Family Health Center, Medical Clinic and Urgent Care will be screened at the door. If they present with fever and respiratory symptoms, they will be seen at Urgent Care. All other symptoms will be screened and directed accordingly.All Specialty Clinic appointments will be rescheduled unless there is an emergent need which will be addressed on a case-by-case basis.Marshall Browning Medical Clinic providers will be temporarily relocated to the Marshall Browning Hospital Specialty Clinic area in an effort to separate potential contagious patients from other patients. If you have an appointment with a provider, you will be contacted regarding your appointment.All elective surgeries will be rescheduled. Please note that infusion patients and chronic wound care will still be provided in Same Day Surgery.We understand this is a challenging time for our patients, families and employees. We ask for your patience and support of these temporary measures.
