New Family Medicine Physician Joins Marshall Browning Hospital

Du Quoin, Illinois – March 9, 2026 – Marshall Browning Hospital in Du Quoin is pleased to announce the addition of board-certified family medicine physician Dr. Olayinka Otukpe (pronounced OH-too-pay) to the hospital’s medical staff. He joins a robust team of providers delivering primary care to patients.

Dr. Otukpe earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Medicine and Health Sciences and completed a Family Medicine Residency at Meharry Medical College in Nashville, TN.

As a primary care physician, Dr. Otukpe will provide comprehensive healthcare to patients of all ages. Primary care physicians are trained to diagnose and treat a wide range of conditions, manage chronic illnesses, perform routine checkups and preventive screenings, and coordinate specialized care as needed. They serve as the first point of contact for patients and play an essential role in promoting overall health and wellness.

Dr. Otukpe is originally from Nigeria and is fluent in English, with a passion for community health. He looks forward to providing compassionate care for the whole family, seeing patients from infancy through geriatric care and everything in between. His special interests include outpatient and preventive care, chronic disease management, women’s health, medical education, and mentorship.

Dr. Otukpe will begin seeing patients on April 7, 2026. His office is at the Marshall Browning Medical Clinic, 905 N. Washington St., Du Quoin, across from the hospital.
