PRN COTA opening.
Under the supervision of a Occupational Therapist, the Occupational Therapy Assistant
administers patient treatment utilizing Occupational Therapy modalities, exercise routines, therapeutic
activities, and patient/family education according to the prescription of the Physician and the treatment
plan established by the Occupational Therapist. The Occupational Therapy Assistant may participate in
team conferences/discuss patient treatment and response with the supervising Occupational Therapist
and Physician and assist with patient and/or family education during their rehab process. The
Occupational Therapy Assistant is responsible for documentation of treatment provided and patient
response to treatment. The Occupational Therapy Assistant will also perform clerical, cleaning, and
departmental maintenance duties as assigned.
The Occupational Therapy Assistant will assist the Occupational Therapist in performing tests
and treatment procedures as delegated.
The Occupational Therapy Assistant may serve as a clinical instructor to Occupational Therapy
Assistant students.
The Occupational Therapy Assistant will administer treatment at the appropriate levels to the
varying ages served: neonates, pediatric, young adult, adult, and geriatric.
QUALIFICATIONS
A. Education: Occupational Therapy Assistant must be a graduate of an accredited 2-year program for Occupational Therapy Assistant leading to an Associate’s Degree in Occupational Therapy.
B. Licensure: Must hold an active license for the state of Illinois or a permit from the licensing board awaiting licensure.
