Dietary Cook - Dietary
JOB SUMMARY
The cook is responsible for the proper preparation of food in accordance with sanitary regulations, maintaining an efficient area, and performing related duties. Must be able to stand and walk for long periods and be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Should have the ability to read, speak, write, and follow oral and written directions. Cooks must possess and keep current an Illinois Food Service Manager Certification or be willing to obtain one within 90 days of being hired. Experience is preferred.
Job Knowledge: Must be able to cook a variety of foods in large quantities and be familiar with seasonings required for modified diets. Must have first-hand knowledge of cooking characteristics, different cuts of meat, and know the names and contents of various types of dishes. Must be able to make simple estimates relative to quantities of food required to avoid waste, and must be knowledgeable of Federal, State, and Facility rules and regulations.
Additional Information Position Type : Full Time Shift : Day Hourly Wage: $15.61 - $24.31 per/hour (Actual wage depends on experience.)
