Maintenance Generalist - Maintenance Department
JOB SUMMARY:
The Maintenance Generalist is involved in the general operation and maintenance of the building, equipment, and grounds; establishes preventive maintenance schedules; requests or requisitions equipment and supplies; performs lawn care and landscaping duties; participates in safety programs to detect, minimize, and control fire and fire hazards. This is a full-time position and is subject to on-call rotation.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A. Education:
High school diploma or G.E.D. required.
B. Training and Experience:
It is preferred that the Maintenance Generalist will have at least one year of relevant work experience in a commercial setting. Work experience with drywall, painting, carpentry, plumbing, and light electrical is desired.
C. Job Knowledge:
Must be willing to become familiar with building maintenance techniques, equipment, and operation of the plumbing, electrical, HVAC systems, and fire and safety regulations and procedures. Should be familiar with work and limitations of various crafts. Must be a self-motivated individual capable of working alone and with little to no supervision.
D. Physical Demands:
Extremely heavy physical effort (lift/carry 50 lbs. or more). Position requires prolonged, extensive, or considerable standing/walking. Occasionally lifts, positions, pushes, and/or transfers patients. Lifts supplies/equipment and pushes/pulls or moves/lifts heavy equipment/supplies. Manual dexterity and mobility required. Considerable reaching, stooping bending, kneeling, crouching. Climbing and working from ladders.
