Physical Therapist Assistant - Physical Therapy
JOB SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of a Licensed Physical therapist, the Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) administers patient treatment utilizing Physical Therapy modalities, exercise routines, therapeutic activities, gait training, and patient/family education according to the prescription of the Physician or Advanced Practice Provider and the treatment plan established by the Physical Therapist. The PTA may participate in interdisciplinary and patient-centered meetings and discuss patient treatment and response with the supervising Physical Therapist and Physician/Advanced Practice Provider and assist with patient and/or family education during their rehab process. The PTA is responsible for accurate documentation and billing of treatment provided and patient response to treatment. The PTA will also perform clerical, cleaning, and departmental maintenance duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: PTA must be a graduate of an accredited 2-year program for Physical Therapist Assistant leading to an Associate’s Degree in Physical Therapy.
Licensure: Must hold active license for the state of Illinois or a permit from the licensing board awaiting licensure.
