Registered Nurse Med/Surg
Full-time RN job opening for night shift on the Medical-Surgical floor. We have an opening night shift for Registered Nurse on our Medical/Surgical floor. The Registered Nurse provides quality professional nursing care for neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric medical, surgical, emergency, post-trauma, and low-risk obstetrical patients through assessing needs; planning appropriate nursing care in collaboration with the patient, the patient’s significant other, and other healthcare team members; implementing appropriate interventions and evaluating the effectiveness of the interventions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Is able to; see, hear read, write, talk, communicate effectively, detect odors, stand for extended periods, walk, sit squat, stoop, bend , crawl, lift up to 30#, reach overhead, push, pull, manipulate small objects with dexterity, think critically and make independent decisions.
QUALIFICATIONS Education: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing; current registration with the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation Training and Experience: Experience desirable but not necessary Job Knowledge: Comprehensive knowledge of general nursing theory and practice including those basic knowledge's related to nursing, such as biological, physical, social and medical sciences and their application. Must have basic knowledge to assess and care for neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Familiarity with organization and function of all departments; familiarity with standards, policies, and procedures of the Nursing Department. Knowledge of literature and new developments in the nursing field. Must have current BLS and ACLS certifications.
